The rapid development of information technologies, especially advancement of artificial intelligence, has begun to affect the legal system just as the other areas of our daily lives. The development of the technologies tend to occur at a pace that cannot always be followed by the legal system, within which a certain amount of time is required for the establishment of suitable legal rules. Simultaneously, the legal system itself has an ever-increasing need of making use of information technologies. Our Laboratory aims to explore the interaction between information technologies and the legal system in a scientific and yet practical manner. In this context, research projects on current issues such as the personal data protection, artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies are carried out.
